Panificadora Leandro® S.A. History
Panificadora Leandro® S.A. was founded by Mr. Juan Felix Villalobos in the year 1955 in the center of Heredia between streets 4 and 6 avenue 6.
In 1950 Mr. Villalobos was the accountant of several companies, between them their was a small town bakery, property of Mr. Bolivar Leandro. Mr. Leandro requested Mr. Villalobos to associate and time later didn't want to continue with the same one for what decided to sell it part to Mr. Villalobos.
Juan Felix Villalobos start from the beginning the opportune changes that need the company and it took it to be in 1987 among the three bakeries that consumed more bakery flour in Costa Rica.
Starting from final of 1998 Panificadora Leandro® began their second stage of growth, this time confronting with professional approaches the challenges of a more sophisticated society, and it begins the installation of work philosophies as the Japanese 5´s and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Additionally it is installing H.A.C.C.P. in all their production lines.
The commitment with the community has not only been to produce an innocuous product (that doesn't cause damages to the human being) but rather also in a harmonic way with the environment, causing like its environmental politics prays the "smallest possible impact."
To carry out all this politicians and procedures have had the consultancy of entities like the Central American Bank of Economic Integration, (BCIE), The Technological Institute of Costa Rica (ITCR), The Center of Formation of Formers (CEFOF) University of Costa Rica(UCR), Costa Rica National University (UNA), the Center of Investigation in Food Technology(CITA), The Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica(CICR), The Costa Rican Chamber of Food Industry(CACIA), The Promoter of External Trade of Costa Rica (PROCOMER), the National Center of Cleaner Production(CNP+L), Economic Industry's Ministry and Trade (MEIC), the Learning National Institute of Costa Rica(INA), the National Institute of Insurance(INS), the Canadian Initiative for the Competitive Industrial(ICCI).
Today Panificadora Leandro® has become a highly efficient company, and with a promising future. It has committed personnel with the established mission and with desires of transforming the vision into an entire reality.
On concern that the company needs to grow in a quick and agile way they are working on the base of being prepared for the moment in that the market of shares is mature in Costa Rica, and this way to be able to open the capital, passing of being at this moment a family company to a company of open capital. This way we will be able to assure a permanency with security of long term.
